I Love Music: 2013 Dallas Reggae Festival

Good vibrations were in abundance at the 2013 Dallas Reggae Festival this year. I attended this event with family and friends to enjoy some down time lakeside. The famous Elaine's Kitchen served up amazing oxtails, king fish, jerk chicken, rice and peas and cabbage.  I was excited to see more vendors especially those with vegan handmade products, beautiful African jewelry and the famous pineapple punch! On Sunday Maxi Priest headlined the show and had everyone singing and dancing as the sunset. We jammed out to many of his popular songs like "Close to You". Among the obvious stars I met a lady named Jessica whom I like to call "Jessica Hoops". Jessica along with a few other friends hula hooped from sun rise to sun set. They even brought along a few extra for the children and "big kids" that wanted to give it a try. Nevertheless, you could tell she was passionate about hooping. The later the day the more she hula danced her heart out. I had to go a meet this person with this amazing talent. She allowed me to capture some of her moves. Despite the darkness her hula hoop lights up the sky just as her spirit lit up the night. Check out some of the pictures and video from the 2013 Dallas Reggae Festival.
